Sometimes the best moments are the ones that aren’t planned.
When Mimi first started her photography business, we’d toyed with the idea of doing a cowgirl-inspired shoot — something fun, golden, and a little bit wild. One evening on my way home from work, I got a message that simply said:
“Golden hour is chef’s kiss, girl grab your boots and hat!”
And just like that, off we went.
We wandered through the village as the sun dipped low, chasing the light and laughing the whole way. It was my first time having someone else take my photos, and honestly? I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Mimi made me feel completely at ease — encouraging, creative, and full of ideas. What was meant to be a quick, spontaneous shoot turned into one of those moments where everything just clicks (pun intended).
Of course, after that, we had to do it again.

For our second shoot, I came a little more prepared — boots packed, outfits planned, and ready to go. We spent a sunny afternoon wandering through the local farm fields, stopping for outfit changes (yes, right there among the corn!) and laughing the entire time. She had me dancing in the wheat fields, stomping down bridle paths, and posing in golden corn rows like I was living out my own country daydream.
As someone who’s dabbled in photography myself, it was so fun chatting lenses, camera gear, and creative ideas with Mimi. It never felt formal or posed — just two friends capturing the kind of magic you only get when the light hits just right.

Mimi’s passion shines through everything she does. She’s built her photography business from the ground up through sheer hard work, creativity, and a deep love for her art — all while raising her twin girls and working her regular job. Her style feels romantic, natural, and almost fairytale-like, with a soft golden glow that makes every photo feel like a memory you can step back into.
If you’re looking for someone to capture your story — whether it’s a family shoot, a creative project, or your own golden-hour adventure — I can’t recommend Mimi’s Works enough. She’s not just a photographer; she’s an artist who finds beauty in the in-between moments.
